Article I: Name 
- The name of this Association shall be "Bethel Park Girls' Basketball Booster Association".
Article II: Purpose 
- The Associations primary purpose is to support Bethel Park School District Girls' Basketball squads, grades nine through Varsity, in all activities related to the duties of their sport.
- The Association shall plan and sponsor an annual banquet honoring the Girls' Basketball squads and Coaches, said banquet to be held at the completion of the season.
- The Association shall conduct a basketball recognition event held near the conclusion of the season. Said recognition shall be an eight grade, ninth grade and junior varsity squad introduction along with senior recognition. A biography of basketball participation shall be profiled in the program book for each junior varsity and varsity player highlighting their basketball history and their involvement in the Bethel Park girls program.
- The Association shall promote player participation in community service to enhance the image of girls basketball within the community and to provide positive experiences for Bethel park players.
- The Association shall support and cooperate with all squad coaches insofar as this cooperation does not interfere with school or team policy.
- The Association shall abide by the Bethel Park School District guidelines for Booster Organizations and coordinate activities and fund-raising events through Student Activities organizations.
Article III: Membership 
- Membership in this Association shall be open to ail persons or families with an interest in Bethel Park girls basketball.
- Membership dues are annual per family and shall be set by vote of the membership at the Annual Meeting.
- Voting privileges are extended to each family upon payment of the dues to the Association. The coaches are ex officio members with full rights of membership.
- Banquet privileges are dependent upon payment of membership dues and participation in required fund-raising.
- Any player voluntarily withdrawing or permanently removed for disciplinary or academic reasons from her respective squad prior to the conclusion of the season shall not be eligible for attendance at the end-of-year banquet nor be reimbursed for dues or fund-raising participation. Any request for special consideration shall be reviewed on a case by case basis by the Executive Board and a recommendation made to the membership.
Article IV: Meetings 
- Regular meetings shall be conducted monthly (except July and August) at a time and place designated by the Executive Board and announced at the Annual Meeting of the Association year.
- The Association year is defined to begin the April 1 through March 31 of the following year. The April meeting shall be designated as the annual meeting.
- Membership meetings shall be held the following months with selected months designated for special purposes: March (elections), April (Annual Meeting and committee sign-ups), December (banquet), January (recognition), May, June, September, October, November and February.
Article V: Executive Board 
- The Executive Board of this Association shall be composed of the Officers and the head girls' basketball coach (Varsity coach), ex officio.
- Executive meetings may be called at the discretion of the President or by a majority of the members of the board.
- The duties of the Executive Board shall be to transact necessary business organization meetings and other business as may be referred to it by the Association; to pass on the plans of work of committee chairmen; to establish an organization budget; and to present a report at the regular meetings of the Association.
- A transition meeting of the out-going and in-coming Executive Boards will be held following the March election meeting and prior to the April Annual Meeting.
Article VI: Officers and Their Election 
- The Officers of this Association shall be a President, First Vice-President, Second Vice- President, Recording Secretary, and Treasurer.
- The Executive Board shall appoint a Nominating committee of three members in February: one from the Executive Board and two from the membership. This committee shall make nominations for each of the officers of the Association and shall present these nominations to the membership at the March meeting. Additional nominations for any or all of the offices shall be made from the floor at the March meeting.
- The nominee for President shall have been a member of the Executive Board for at least one year.
- The President and Treasurer shall serve no more than two consecutive terms.
- All candidates must have consented to serve before nominations are filled.
- At the March meeting of the Association, the officers shall be elected. If there is more than one candidate for any office, the election for that particular office shall be by ballot. Officers shall be installed at the March meeting and serve for a term of one year or until their successors shall have been duly elected.
- In the case of a permanent vacancy in the office of President during the Association year, the First Vice President shall become President. In case of a vacancy in the office of First Vice President or Second Vice-President, Recording Secretary, or Treasurer, the Executive Board shall fill such vacancy through appointment.
Article VII: Duties of Officers 
- The President shall preside at all meetings of the Association and Executive Board; shall appoint the chairman of all committees and shall be a member ex officio of all committees except the nominating committee; shall act for this Association in the presentation of all awards made by this organization; shall serve as liaison with the Athletic Office; and shall perform all other duties usually pertaining to the office.
- The First Vice-president shall act as an aide to the President and shall perform the duties of the president in the absence of that office. The First Vice President shall be in charge of the nominating committee.
- The Second Vice-president shall be in charge of the girls' basketball Banquet committee.
- The Recording Secretary shall keep a correct record of all meetings of the Association and of the Executive Board. All records shall be open to members of this Association at any time.
- The Treasurer shall normally receive and have the custody of all monies of the Association, depositing the same in such depository as shall be selected by the Executive Board. The Treasurer shall make all disbursements and keep a correct account of all receipts and the disbursements and shall make a report at the regular meetings, a full report at the annual meeting and at other times when requested by the Executive Board. In the absence of the Treasurer, the President shall perform the duties of the Treasurer's office.
Article VIII: Finances 
- The fiscal year of the Association shall begin April 1 and shall expire one year later on March 31.
- The books of the Association shall be audited by March 20 and a written report shall be submitted and read at the April meeting. All receipts for payment of expenses must be submitted by the March meeting. The audit shall be conducted by a committee of not less than two members appointed by the Executive Board but none of which is a member thereof.
- Checks with a face value in excess of $100.00 shall require the signature of the President and Treasurer. Checks with a nominal value of less than $100.00 shall require the signature of either the President or Treasurer.
- The Executive Board shall develop a budget for the forthcoming year.
- Committee chairmen shall request budget approval for the event by the Executive Board prior to making expenditures.
- Committees handling funds shall keep a record of all receipts and disbursements and shall make a final written report to the Association.
- Booster activities shall be conducted within the confines of the annual budget approved by the executive committee.
- Upon dissolution of the Association, all funds shall be donated to the designated primary charity of the Association. This charity shall be identified each year at the Annual Meeting of the Association and recorded in the April minutes of the Association.
Article IX: Committees 
- There shall be two standing committees, chaired by officers of the organization, as specified under the duties of the officers.
- Other committees shall be identified, and chairmen and volunteers selected, at the April meeting of the Association.
- Committees shall serve at the will of the president in keeping within these By-laws.
Article X: Parliamentary Authority 
- The rules contained in Robert's Rules of Order, Revised, shall govern this Association in all cases in which they do not conflict with the By-laws of this Association.
Article XI: Amendments 
- On approval of the membership, these By-laws replace any previous Association By-laws or Constitution or other governing documents, and are effective the 2003-2004 Association year.
- These By-laws may be amended at any regular or special meetings of the Association by a plurality vote of two-thirds of the membership that is in attendance provided that the proposed amendment shall have been submitted in writing to the Recording Secretary prior to the scheduled meeting.
