Bethel Park Lady Hawks Basketball Booster's Association Meeting
January 10, 2006

Call to Order

President Tom Loadman called the meeting to order at 7:40 PM.

Reading of Minutes

The minutes from the December 5 meeting were not read.

Financial Update

No budget was presented. However, Tom said two major expenses haven’t been deducted yet - the Program book (bill hasn’t been received yet) and approximately $159 for a late order for basketball shoes. Also, a microwave oven was purchased for concessions. Assuming that the cost is shared by girls basketball, boys basketball, and volleyball, our contribution will be about $50. Remaining major expenses include Senior Night and the Annual Banquet.

Fundraising

Remaining fundraisers include two Muffin Sales (March 31 and April 12), concession sales, and 50/50. Audrey Glowacki will pick up muffins at Sam’s Club for the March 31 sale; a volunteer is still needed for the April 12 sale.

Notes from the Coach/President

Promotion Nights – To date, one metro team has been recognized. However, two Lady Hawks games were canceled so those promotion nights have been rescheduled. Tom provided a handout of the new dates (Bethel Park Rec teams may be added, possibly on Feb. 13). Mary Pat Bielich will contact the schools for the Jan. 30^th night. The Rec teams will also be contacted:

• January 17^th vs. Thomas Jefferson (Metro girls’ teams)

• January 23^rd vs. USC (Hillcrest, St. Anne, St. Valentine)

• January 30^th vs. Ringgold (St. Germaine, St. Louise, St. Thomas More)

• February 6^th vs. Mt. Lebanon (IMS 7^th and 8^th grade girls’ teams)

• February 13^th vs. Penn Hills (little dribblers)

Bylaws – There was some confusion about a bylaws issue raised at the December meeting. However, the person who raised the question was not present tonight so the issue was not discussed.

Senior Night – is February 13^th. Everyone will bring appetizers, to be served right after the game. Gifts will be purchased for the two seniors. If acceptable to the seniors, they will be introduced this year by a player of their choice.

Committee Reports

Banquet Committee - Dayna Hester reported that the Annual Banquet is tentatively scheduled for Sunday April 2 (starting around 4 or 5 PM) at the Hilton Gardens at Southpointe, but she needs to clear this with Coach Burke. A CD slide show/photo library will be created to show at the banquet and give to the girls/coaches as a keepsake. Rich Unger will be asked to send parents/players an email reminder to contribute photos. Tom Loadman will contact Eleanor Bailey to see if we can purchase a CD of game photos.
