Bethel Park Lady Hawks Basketball Booster's Association Meeting
May 9, 2005

Call to Order

President Tom Loadman called the meeting to order at 7:35 PM.

Reading of Minutes

Rick Poploski read the meeting minutes from the April 11, 2005 meeting. The minutes were approved.

Financial Update

Scott Krebs provided a budget summary. A budget summary for the past year and projections for the upcoming season were given.

Notes from the Coach

Coach Burke informed Tom that the team might not attend the IUP Summer Camp on June 25 and 26. There are several other camps she is looking into and will let him know which camp the team will attend. The dates will not change. Coach Burke also informed Tom that the Altoona Christmas Tournament has been canceled. The team will attend the Elizabeth Forward Christmas Tournament. She asked Tom if the Boosters can purchase 3 new official state basketballs for the team to practice with in the event the team qualifies for state playoffs, since a different ball is used versus the WPIAL.

Committee Reports

Car Wash - Rich Unger reported the car wash went well even though it rained several times. We raised $521.00. Coupons accounted for $240 and the remainder was from cash donations. Rich urged more parents to attend the car washes.

Girls Summer Camp - The summer camp for elementary students will be held June 27th to 30th . Volunteers will be needed to help out as well as the Varsity and JV Players.

Tip Off Tournament - The tournament will be held December 6th and 7th. It was suggested we charge the JV Teams $100 to cover the cost of the referees.

Community Day - Gary Gieger will donate 50 blankets that we can sell. A price was not yet decided.

New Business

Chairmanships for all upcoming fundraisers were discussed. If anyone would like to Chair a fundraiser please call Tom Loadman.

Fund Raising - Rich Unger suggested we could use "Canning" as a fund raiser.- Have the girls go door to door or collect donations at intersections.

Bake Sale - It was also suggested that the girls could hold a bake sale in school in the fall.

The meeting adjourned at 8:45 PM. The next meeting will be held June 6th at 7:30 PM. Room 1104.
