JV - The top eight (8) teams from each Section will make the playoffs.
Varsity - The top eight (8) teams from each Section will make the playoffs.
If two (2) teams in a Section have the same record, the winner of their regular season head-to-head match will be the higher seed.
If three (3) teams in a Section have the same record, the winner of both head-to-head matches will be the highest seed, and the loser of both head-to-head matches will be the lowest seed.
If three (3) teams in the Section have the same record AND A beat B, B Beat C, & C beat A (i.e., a bonafide three-way tie), the League Director will determine the seeding of those three (3) teams.
However, if the bonafide three-way tie in a Section is for first place, then those teams will play a round-robin tiebreaker match on Saturday, October 22, to determine the Section Champion and the final seeding of each team. If a team is unable to play on Saturday, October 22, then that team will receive the lowest seed, and the winner of the regular season head-to-head match between the remaining two teams will be the Section Champion and receive the highest seed.
If a bonafide three-way tie in a Section is for the final playoff spot(s), then those teams will play in a round-robin tiebreaker match on Saturday, October 22, to determine the final seeding of each team. If a team is unable to play on Saturday, October 22, then that team will receive the lowest seed, and the winner of the regular season head-to-head match between the remaining two teams will receive the highest seed.
Teams will be placed in the brackets according to their seed in the Section, regardless if the opponent is from the same school.
1st Round Playoff Matches (only if more than 16 teams qualify) will take place on Sunday (October 23).
2nd Round Playoff Matches will take place on Monday (October 24) for JV, and on Wednesday (October 26) for Varsity.
Varsity Final Eight will take place on Saturday (October 29) at Bishp Canevin High School (9:30 AM).
JV Final Eight will take place on Sunday (October 30) at Bishop Canevin High School (1:00 PM).
The League Director reserves the right to modify the above schedule/dates on a case-by-case basis. For example, if two (2) teams are coached by the same head coach then accommodations will be made so that they can coach both teams in the playoffs. Most likely those accommodations will be varying the start times of the Friday and Sunday matches, and potentially varying the dates of the Monday and/or Wednesday matches.
The League Director will determine the venues for the playoff matches as we get closer to the start of the playoffs. The venue must meet certain requirements in order to qualify for hosting a playoff match.
